If you have ever wanted to spend long, leisurely days under the warm Cretan sun, floating in your own private pool whilst admiring sweeping panoramic sea and mountain views, but didn’t think that you could afford it, then the exceptionally competitive prices at Villa Anesa could change that and make your dreams come true.

Nestled on a terraced hillside on the outskirts of Kokkino Horio village, Villa Anesa is within walking distance of 2 tavernas and a well stocked mini market, and just a short drive to a small cove and sea caves known mostly by locals, or the shops, and tavernas in the popular village of Plaka, and the sandy beaches and small fishing harbour in Almyrida. In addition to a convenient location and budget prices, Villa Anesa has the perfect aspect facing west and south which means that there is sun on the pool terrace for the majority of the day and the most spectacular sunsets – what more could you ask for!

Internally this recently renovated property is particularly pretty and has the fresh, welcoming feel of a happy summer home. Decorated predominately in the Greek blue and white colour scheme, painted wooden planked ceilings run throughout the villa and match the hand painted furniture and kitchen cabinets. Unpretentious, comfortable, and well equipped, Villa Anesa has every modern amenity including Free unlimited WIFI, a TV with channels via the internet, air conditioning, a washing machine and dishwasher, white aluminium doors, windows, and shutters with mosquito screens on all the windows, and brand new fully tiled shower rooms. The upstairs bedrooms both benefit from having high chalet style ceilings and a set of double doors with direct access to the shaded front balcony which overlooks the pool to the glittering, aquamarine sea, and the majestic White Mountains.

Last, but certainly not least, on the opposite side of Villa Anesa is the area which is bound to be the focal point of your holiday fun. The pool terrace is furnished with sun-beds, sun umbrellas, and another set of dining table and chairs. In between bouts of sunbathing you will relish cooling off in the crystal clear water of the delightful infinity style pool. With an eye-catching backdrop of sea, mountains, and the attractive coastline spreading out below, poolside living has never been more appealing. So much so that there may well be evenings when, rather than dining out, you will prefer to stay on the pool terrace and eat a delicious takeout meal from one of the area’s many excellent tavernas, as the sun sets over the sea and the bay turns into a myriad shades of intense red, gold, orange, and pink.

*** N.B. Because of its elevated location, to ensure the safety of younger family members, there are railings around the infinity pool, and on one side of the pool terrace there is a small gate at the top of a flight of 23 steps that lead down to the parking area and road. Villa Anesa was originally the centre 2 townhouses in a small row of 4. The current owners completely renovated and remodeled the 2 centre townhouses so that they now make one lovely house. The end townhouse to the left of the villa is a holiday home that is only occasionally used by a Polish couple who live in Switzerland, and the end townhouse to the right of the villa has the same owners as Villa Anesa.

Not private as the villa is located in center of the village but previous guests tell me that they are usually on their own around the swimming pools.

Nearest Neighbour :
10m Almyrida beach and facilities are within easy walking distance, and there is a limited bus service into Chania, but we recommend car hire in order to explore the varied regions of the area.

VILLA ACCOMMODATION

Ground floor (23 steps from the private parking area, 0 steps from the pool terrace): Open plan level living room, kitchen and dining area, 1 shower room/wet room, 1 bedroom with a convertible bed (single/twin/double).

The flight of steps from the parking area leads up to the pool terrace and to the front door of the villa. The front door opens to a small hallway which has a washing machine, a shoe cupboard, doors to the downstairs shower room and bedroom, the stairs, and it then leads through into the open plan living room/kitchen/dining area. The living room has a large corner sofa, a coffee table, 2 side tables (one with a lamp and one with the WIFI router), a trolley with a flat screen TV, DVD player, and books, a dining table and 6 chairs. The kitchen area has blue painted wood cabinets, black granite effect work surfaces, a cooker with a 4 ring ceramic hob, a refrigerator/freezer, a slim-line dishwasher, a microwave, a kettle, a coffee machine, a toaster, a microwave oven, a side table with a small wooden barrel containing raki/tsikoudia, a butter churn, and windows to the rear courtyard.

The living room and dining area have windows to both the pool terrace (with mountain and sea views) and the rear courtyard. The downstairs shower room/wet room has grey and white tiles, a wall shower, a basin with a mirror and light above it and a cupboard below, a mirrored door, and large a frosted window to the pool terrace. The small downstairs bedroom has a day bed with a single mattress and a roll out bed with a single mattress, these can be put together with a double mattress topper to form a double bed. There is also a bedside table with a lamp, a wardrobe with a hanging rail, a shelf and a drawer, a chest of drawers, and a mirror. There is a high window and an external bedroom door which opens out to the rear courtyard.

First floor (16 steps from the ground floor): 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedroom, 1 shower room, and a covered balcony with sea and mountain views.

At the top of the stairs there is a hallway which has to windows that overlook the rear courtyard, and the doors to the bedrooms and shower room. The first door is for the twin bedroom which has 2 single beds, 1 bedside cabinet with a lamp, 2 wardrobes, a mirror, curtains, and double doors that lead out onto the front, shaded balcony which is shared with the double bedroom. The second door on the hallway is for the upstairs shower room which has grey and white tiles, a shower cabinet with sliding glass doors, a basin with a mirror and light above it and a set of drawers below it, and a frosted window to the pool terrace.

The door at the end of the hallway is for the double bedroom which has a carved double bed, 2 bedside cabinets with lamps, a dressing table, stool and wall mirror, a mirrored wardrobe, a wall rack for hanging things, a window which looks out to rear courtyard, and double doors which open out onto the front balcony.

Villa Location

The heart of the village of Almyrida is only 400m from Villa Anastasia, and is built around a pretty crescent shaped sandy beach, with a small fishing harbour at the eastern end. The beach is very shallow and safe, which is good news if you have children or are not a strong swimmer. Lining the beach are 11 tavernas, 2 pizzeria/pasta restaurants, 6 cafés, 1bar, 1 bakery, 4 mini-markets, 7 gift shops, 1 Italian ice cream shop, a pharmacy, a fruit and vegetable shop with a deli counter, an off license/liquor shop, 1 kiosk, a nail spa,and 3 real estate offices. Also in Almyrida there is a scuba diving centre, a water sports centre which rents out kayaks, windsurfers and catamarans, pedalo rentals, paddle board rentals, and we at Villas Crete Holidays will give you tourist information and supply you with the contact details for private boat hire, boat trips, waterskiing, big game fishing, horse riding, private astronomy nights at your villa, private sightseeing flights in a light aircraft, and guided walking tours and coach excursions. A few minutes by car from Villa Anastasia, there are a huge variety of archaeological sites and traditional villages with wonderful tavernas. There is also an interesting selection of small craft centres and museums, including glass blowing in Kokkino Horio and a folklore museum in Gavalohori. For those of you looking for even more activity, the historic town of Chania is only 35 minutes away by car.

VILLA ANESA has a flexible changeover day but this is subject to the bookings before and after your chosen dates.

If your chosen dates mean that there are too many empty nights, with less than 7 nights between bookings and, therefore, a loss of income for the villa owner, we will probably not be able to accept your booking. If we cannot accept your preferred dates we will contact you to offer alternative dates or alternative villas.
