Set in a quiet and nicely landscaped residential community with two swimming pools, Almyrida’s friendly beachside tavernas, shops, and aquatic activities are all just a hop skip and jump from the detached home’s front door.
Simply yet comfortably furnished, this clean, neat, and cost-effective property is fully kitted with modern amenities that include dishwasher, flat screen TV, free WIFI internet access (up to 1GB in downloads), and washing machine. Luminous rays of ubiquitous sunshine filter through abundant windows and glass paned doors, with a choice of open-air and covered terraces -- some of which boast imposing mountain views – bordering both levels. In addition to providing safe havens for the children to play, these outdoor living spaces are great for an evening barbecue or to take a relaxing break within the welcome embrace of a whispering sea breeze.
The larger of the two swimming pools sits just steps from the house and, like its counterpart around the corner, is pleasingly embroidered by grand date palm trees and a colorful mélange of blooming oleander. Both pools contain shallow child-friendly areas and a deeper end for the adults and teenagers – perfect for a cooling early morning dip, a lazy afternoon with a good book, or a refreshing reprieve after an excursion through Crete’s scenic interior. Guests who have stayed at Villa Anastasia in previous years tell us that (other than their own family members) they are usually alone at the swimming pools.
Villa Anastasia is also within easy walking distance through picturesque country lanes to a handful of recommended dining spots in the quaint village of Plaka. Long stretches of beach and a slew of restaurants and shopping options can additionally be found just a quick drive or taxi ride away in the nearby beach village of Kalives.
